OTHER SERVICES

OTHER SSP MAINTENANCE LTD SERVICES AVAILABLE:

Infill Application & Top Ups:

Maintaining the correct infill level is important to maintaining the playing characteristics of a synthetic sports surface. Whilst the amount of infill top required for sand filled and dressed synthetic sports pitches is minimal, the amount for 3G Astro pitches and artificial clay tennis courts can be more substantial because the migration of fill can be more. Artificial clay tennis courts rely on play being on the fill at a thickness of 2mm above the stabilisation mat. 3G rubber filled sports surfaces rely on the correct level of fill in relation to ball bounce and player fatigue.

Surface Repair:

From time to time Synthetic sports surfaces require repair. This may be through vandalism, high wear in areas such as the penalty spot, poor installation and loss of seam adhesion.

It is important to repair the surface immediately for player safety and to prevent further damage to the surface.

Line Marking:

Most tennis courts have their play lines in opposing colours made from synthetic grass sports surfaces. This is carried out by a specialised line marking machine and synthetic coating paint. Synthetic turf coating paint can only be applied when dry and due to the local environment, will only last an unspecified period of time before it requires remarking.

Inspection & Advisory Service:

With experience extending over 30 years, SSP Maintenance Ltd offer synthetic surface inspections and an advisory service.

Pressurised Water Process:
Macadam and Acrylic tennis courts benefit from periodic pressure washing.

Macadam and Acrylic tennis courts will suffer from a build-up of film over time which will lead to a reduction in the visibility of the colour of the surface and lead to traction problems.  The build-up of the contamination will promote the growth of moss.

Macadam & Acrylic tennis courts should have a moss killer applied to them twice a year in spring and autumn, and have any surface debris removed regularly. During dry periods they should be lightly brushed with a soft bristled brush and blown off using a leaf blower.

Depending on the courts location they should be pressure washed every 3-5 years to remove any built up film.

SSP Maintenance Ltd use a Demon Hurricane Pressure Washer that exerts 2,900 psi to clean such surfaces with the debris removed to the constructed fall.
